91 Dengue Cases Reported in Hanamkonda and Mahbubabad
Hanamkonda and Mahbubabad districts are facing a rise in seasonal illnesses, with 91 dengue cases and around 6,500 fever cases reported so far.
According to health officials, Mahbubabad district has 68 dengue cases and 5,000 viral fever cases, while Hanamkonda has 23 dengue cases and 1,500 fever cases.
District Medical and Health Officers (DM&HOs) said precautionary steps are being taken. Municipal and village authorities have been asked to maintain proper sanitation to prevent the spread of diseases.

Hanamkonda DMHO Dr. A Appaiah said that an action plan is already in place, with medical teams conducting fever tests in both city and rural areas.
Mahbubabad DMHO Ravi Rathod added that rapid response teams are testing at the mandal level. Patients showing severe symptoms are being shifted to government hospitals for treatment.

Keep surroundings clean and free from stagnant water (mosquitoes breed in it).
Use mosquito nets or repellents, especially during early morning and evening.
Wear full-sleeved clothes to avoid mosquito bites.
Use mosquito screens on windows and doors.
Cover water containers tightly and change stored water regularly.
Avoid keeping plants or items that collect water inside the house.

Drink plenty of fluids (water, ORS, coconut water) to stay hydrated.
Take adequate rest to help the body recover.
Eat light, nutritious food such as fruits, vegetables, and soups.
Monitor temperature regularly.
Take only prescribed medicines (avoid self-medication, especially aspirin for dengue).
If symptoms worsen (high fever, rashes, bleeding, difficulty breathing), seek immediate medical attention.
