Trump Proposes Green Cards for Foreign Graduates
Washington DC: Former President Donald Trump, known for his tough stance on illegal immigration, has made a surprising suggestion. Trump proposes green cards for foreign students graduating from U.S. universities, allowing them to stay and work in the country automatically.
Trump believes that the U.S. should retain talented individuals who want to contribute to the nation. “When you graduate from a college here, you should get a green card along with your diploma,” Trump said on the All-In podcast, hosted by several venture capitalists.
He made this suggestion in response to a question about allowing the best and brightest minds from around the world to stay in the U.S. Although Trump has often spoken out against illegal immigration, he criticized President Joe Biden for not reducing the number of illegal border crossings.
During his presidency, Trump promised to build a border wall, with 452 miles completed before he left office. He has also vowed to take strict immigration measures if re-elected, including mass deportations and ending birthright citizenship.
Trump shared stories of graduates from top colleges who wanted to stay and start businesses but couldn’t due to visa issues. He said, “On day one, this will change.”
It’s unclear if Trump’s proposal would apply to those who entered the country illegally.
